"I BELIEVE IN PINK! I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles."— Audrey Hepburn

“To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.” - Ralph Waldo Emerson

Every night, friends. You have done what you could. Let it go.

“Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day. You shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.” ― Ralph Waldo Emerson

Goodbye January...Hello February

January was fairly eventful here in the World of the Little Pink Blog...I and my husband both got new computer, and for the first time in years mine is NOT PINK:( not cool... It is a sad day in the land of TrulySimplyPink...bow heads...The damn thing is a wonder but...it is...gasp...BLACK...I do not do black...what to do, what to do...I came home from the store...the one that had only one pink computer in the entire place..Safe to say that I made an impression! Well, don't you worry all of you pink compadres out there! I am pinking it up! I have ordered some tech stickers from Vera Bradley and some Small Warrior in Pink car decals from fordcares.com, they are here and I just have to decide on my plan of action:)
This all came about because of the difficulties my pink computer was giving me while I was working on my 2 groups of grant proposals that were due within a week of each other last month. DH came into the bedroom one morning and actually said "how about you and I go to the computer store tomorrow morning"...How about that!?!
My grants were due and so it was another couple of days before I actually got it out of the box because, well, I am so disciplined and my grants were due...
I ended up with an Asus top of the line laptop! Can you say SALE!?!
I finally got my fitbit out of the box and all set up...it is supposed to track the steps, sleep, etc...I am very interested in the sleep...fascinating!

Oh yes, that is me on the right! The past few weeks have been a nightmare of constant migraines...I am on several medications that are there to prevent them but when they break through I have another one that usually/mostly/almost always takes them away...Not lately...Last weekend I worked...I actually had to call out sick twice, not on the weekend!...once before the weekend and once after, just to get through migraines...the second time it was so bad that I missed a whole day. The pain was so violent that I was throwing up! It has been a long time since one has gotten that far away from me. Finally, I was able to get the Maxalt to kick in and I slept for most of the day. That day I finally emailed my physician and she and I decided to up the dose on two of the meds that I am on preventatively...to see if that will help. All of this, we are thinking, because of the additional stress I have been under since last May. Please wish me some of that pink luck:)
Why yes...Yes, I did...

But on to better, happier things...Remember, positive, is my word, of the year:)

I have been reading Kathy Reichs lately. I read her little eshort, Bones in Her Pocket and followed that up with her latest in the Temperance Brennan series, Bones of the Lost. Loved them both!
Then, although I have them all, I have not started her new YA series, Virals...I am now into the 3rd one:) So, yes, I like them, Thank you very much! brilliant actually! Maybe, I will showcase them in another post...One of them is over there in the sidebar as my current read:) I have finished Virals and Seizure and I am in the middle of Code. I don't fool around. I had put some of my favorite authors on hold in order to do some romances for the blog and Avon Addicts and street teams etc. But now I am giving them some attention.
I also decided to pick up another hobby that I have ignored for years...cross stitch and needle work. I can't wait to get started!
Here is a picture of a pattern that I purchased.

I think it will take me some time to be able to get back into the stitches but a lot of the fun is the aesthetics of it also...just love the colors, they warm my heart! I used to take classes, until the advocacy took over most of my spare time.
Anyway, this is a pretty good recap of the last few weeks and I am beginning to ramble, so...
I shall say goodbye...
February is pretty special in our house:) Not only is it the month of love, but it is the month that my lovely daughter was born! Almost 22 years ago now...

That's her and Bailey!

Out the front door...

So...
