"I BELIEVE IN PINK! I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles."— Audrey Hepburn

“To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.” - Ralph Waldo Emerson

Every night, friends. You have done what you could. Let it go.

“Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day. You shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.” ― Ralph Waldo Emerson

I was given this book as an ARC for an hones review and I have to say after reading the others in the series, that this one does not disappoint! I love this book:) What a hilarious treat! Hard to Come By

Hard to Come By (Hard Ink, #3)Hard to Come By by Laura Kaye
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was given to me as an uncorrected ARC. I cannot say enough about this book! A wonderful addition to the Hard Ink series and in keeping with the other books the hero is to die for and will make your heart melt. Laura Kaye seems a master at the inner workings of the hard assed hero and this time is no exception. Things are not always perfect for our hero, but that's life...This book picks up right where the last one left off and of course leaves us hankering for the next one in the series. I actually find myself envying the readers that are looking forward to the release of the book on the 25th. They have a lot to look forward to!
Get ready everyone you are in for a real treat!

Letting Go, by Molly McAdams

The New York Times and USA Today bestselling New Adult author returns with a sizzling novel of love, loss, guilt, and forgiveness.
Grey and Ben fell in love at thirteen and believed they’d be together forever. But three days before their wedding, the twenty-year-old groom-to-be suddenly died from an unknown heart condition, destroying his would-be-bride’s world. If it hadn’t been for their best friend, Jagger, Grey never would have made it through those last two years to graduation. He’s the only one who understands her pain, the only one who knows what it’s like to force yourself to keep moving when your dreams are shattered. Jagger swears he’ll always be there for her, but no one has ever been able to hold on to him. He’s not the kind of guy to settle down.
It’s true that no one has ever been able to keep Jagger—because he’s only ever belonged to Grey. While everyone else worries over Grey’s fragility, he’s the only one who sees her strength. Yet as much as he wants Grey, he knows her heart will always be with Ben. Still they can’t deny the heat that is growing between them—a passion that soon becomes too hot to handle. But admitting their feelings for each other means they’ve got to face the past. Is being together what Ben would have wanted . . . or a betrayal of his memory that will eventually destroy them both?

About the Author:
Molly McAdams grew up in California but now lives in the oh-so-amazing state of Texas with her husband and furry daughter. Her hobbies include hiking, snowboarding, traveling and long walks on the beach, which roughly translates to being a homebody with her hubby and dishing out movie quotes. When she's not at work, she can be found hiding out in her bedroom surrounded by her laptop, cell, Kindle and fighting over the TV remote. She has a weakness for crude-humored movies, fried pickles and loves curling up in a fluffy comforter during a thunderstorm...or under one in a bathtub if there are tornadoes. That way she can pretend they aren't really happening.

Another year, Another success!

Good Morning...Although most of you won't see this until later than that...My title refers to our local Susan G Komen Race for the Cure. I live in Maryland and I have been involved in some form or another since 1996. That would be the year after my diagnosis in 1995. For many years now, with a short break for a stint as race chair I have been the Survivor tent chair. I have also served as Volunteer chair and teams and other things...
I and my small committee plan all year and the the day before the race is set up day! We work all afternoon to make sure we have the tent all decorated and ready for the thousands that will visit the next day! This year I had the added excitement of passing a few kidney stones Friday morning before work...never a dull moment!

So that is some of us setting up the day before...See the pink pumpkins? Cute, huh? Then Saturday night we bravely voluntered to attend a Crab feast to benefit KomenMD...They offered a table to Survivors...we filled it...only to be at the race at 0500...oh the sacrifices we make for the cause...lol...So here is a little shot of the festivities!

We did have fun...and then I fell...missed a step actually...on the way to the buffet...because I don't actually eat crabs...

This is only one of the results there is also the cracked knee cap and the other various aches and pains...oh well...all in the name of breast cancer, right!?!
On to the race!
Here are a few pictures from that day...

The Survivor Picture

Fun in the Tent

On the Table

All in all it was a good day...It always is...The year can be frustrating< as it can be hard to get people to read and return emails, we have no budget, and I have been doing this labor of love a very long time...My day job has become much more challenging as of late.
There is also the fact that I am very involved in the advocacy side of the breast cancer movement...But I feel that that is a post for another day...
All of that is a very long way to say that this year has been my swan song...It is with mixed feelings that I must say that I am retiring from the leadership of the KomenMD survivor tent.
As Always,

Billionaires in Love
Two classic Carly Phillips stories about love, loss and second chances ...

The Playboy’s Second Chance
This story was formerly titled Kismet. Since the title was confusing to readers, I changed the name and now bring you The Playboy’s Second Chance. I hope you enjoy my sexy, stand-alone novella.

Trevor Dane, Wall Street Hot Shot and billionaire, has everything — money, power and any woman he could possibly want yet he isn’t happy. When his latest interviewer turns out to be the one woman he’s never forgotten, Trevor sees a second chance and he won’t let Lissa Gardelli’s wariness or old hurts stop him from getting back into her bed… and her heart.

Midnight Angel

Hollywood superstar, Dylan North, revisits his home town with the express intent of seeing his first love once more, to see if they can reignite the love he stupidly threw away ten years before. The last thing Dr. Holly Evans needs in her life is her high school sweetheart returning and stirring up old feelings. But Dylan is determined to convince Holly that happily ever doesn't only happen in the movies.

Banned Books Week!

Good Morning:) or whenever you are reading this:) I will assume that you all realize by now that this week is banned book week, if for no other reason than the fact that my title up there just told you that...lol!

Yup, it is...Can you imagine that in this day and age, people feel that they still have the right to tell other people what they can and cannot read? I mean,to believe that you have the right to decide what is best for someone other then yourself...even if it for the good of mankind....rather insufferable don't you think?

I read an article this week written by an author that has had at least two of his books protested. Huffington Post You can click on that and read it for yourself, but the gist was that it was an exciting thing that meant that he had written an important work that meant something to someone!
Huh, Go figure...
Well, no matter the what or why, this girl had thought at one point that this type of censorship was a thing of the past...Not so apparently...
Well, may cooler heads prevail....
Until then, I am here to tell you that there are several favorite books of mine on the banned book list. The first one that comes to mind is To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. This book has been challenged, banned and brought back almost more than any other since it's publication in 1960.
So, which banned books are your favorites?

A Must Read...A new Genre for Me...

Acadia's Law (Book One, Undying Love Series)Acadia's Law by Tracy Ellen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was a real departure for me. In fact I did not realize the actual content of the book until well into it. It is not my usual genre. Having said that, this book not only held my interest, I loved it. A very different take on an old subject! Let me just say that I received this as an ARC from the author in return for an honest review. So I HAD to read it...lol...I forced myself to continue when I realized what it was really about and I have to say that I not only finished it I loved it and cannot wait for the next one. Please pick this one up! You will not regret it!

Bones Never Lie (Temperance Brennan, #17)Bones Never Lie by Kathy Reichs
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

As someone who has read every book in this series and the Viral series also...This one did not disappoint. The book holds up and then some. No spoilers here, but as a long time reader I have to say I am very satisfied with the outcome. The entire story line is right in line with what I have come to expect from KR and the science is there for all to enjoy also. Highly recommend this one!

Hard to Hold on To (Hard Ink, #2.5)Hard to Hold on To by Laura Kaye
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Gripping, Emotional read!

OK, so wow! Each time I read a book that Laura writes I am struck again by just how well she does the dialogue and raw emotion of the characters...I marvel at how she is able to think like a man. OK, at least how I believe how a hard edged, tortured man might think...Just an awesome, put through the ringer read. But at the same time real and so far into how these two will come out on the other side. I cannot wait to catch glimpses of them in the next book in the Hard Ink series. Truly was so caught by surprise when I hit the last word. I wanted more. Alas, I will have to wait until December! Trust me if you have not yet met the men and women of the Hard Ink, Hurry! You won't regret it!

EXCERPT: Easy tugged down the covers and gestured for Jenna to get in. She chose the side that would allow her to lie on the uninjured side of her face. “After what you’ve been through, I don’t want to do anything that makes you feel uncomfortable,” Easy said. Propping herself on an elbow, Jenna shook her head. “You won’t. You’re the—” She blanched as if she hadn’t meant to say whatever she’d nearly said. Which made Easy need to know. He crawled on the bed as if lured by the words. “Finish. That. Sentence.” She eased back onto the pillow, red hair sprawling around her shoulders like silk, and stared up at him. And it took everything Easy had not to settle himself on top of her and tease the words out with his hands and tongue. “The only one who makes me feel safe," she whispered. Satisfaction humming through him, Easy turned and stretched out on his back. Because if he kept looking at her while she was looking at him like that, he might not be able to restrain himself from having what he wanted. A taste. A chance. None of which she was in any shape for. And given the shitstorm in his head, probably neither was he. “Good. That’s good,” he murmured, blowing out a long breath. Damn, he was tired. Not just because he hadn’t slept much the night before. But because of the size of the load he’d been shouldering for the past twelve-plus months. If he could only figure out how to put it down. He scrubbed his hands over his face, wishing he could shake himself out of this fucking slump. If Rimes were here, he’d kick Easy’s ass for being such a morose motherfucker. But he wasn’t here. Which was the damn problem in a nutshell. He dropped his arms to the bed and peered over at Jenna. She lay on her side facing him, hand tucked under her chin, not looking the least bit settled or relaxed. “Whatchu need?” “You.” She spoke the word without any hesitation, any doubt, any seeming self-consciousness. “Have me, Jenna. Whatever you want,” he said, his cock stirring no matter how hard he reined himself in. Holding his gaze, she moved closer until her head rested on his shoulder and her body trapped his arm between them. And, suddenly, she wasn’t fucking close enough. “Here,” he whispered, lifting his arm and inviting her closer. And damn if his heart didn’t soar when she fitted herself the rest of the way against him, her face against his throat, her breasts against his ribs, her leg curling up onto his thigh. He wasn’t sure whose sigh was louder. All Easy knew was that this was the first time in more than a year he didn’t feel alone. Wrapping his arm around her, he couldn’t resist squeezing her in just a little closer. “Thank you,” she whispered, her breath ticklish against his neck. He laced his fingers between hers where they rested on his chest. “I gotchu. You just close your eyes and know I’m here.”

Did you have a favorite line? Thanks for reading!

HTHOT Teaser About Hard To Hold On To: Edward "Easy" Cantrell knows better than most the pain of not being able to save those he loves—which is why he is not going to let Jenna Dean out of his sight. He may have just met her, but Jenna's the first person to make him feel alive since that devastating day in the desert more than a year ago. Jenna has never met anyone like Easy. She can't describe how he makes her feel--and not just because he saved her life. No, the stirrings inside her reach far beyond gratitude. As the pair are thrust together while chaos reigns around them, they both know one thing: the things in life most worth having are the hardest to hold on to.

My Very Busy Backyard...

So as you may surmise from the title of this little post, I have become quite fascinated with our pretty little backyard:) It is a very busy place and such fun to watch. I come home from a busy day at work and when I pull into the driveway and turn the engine off I sit...and look out into the backyard...I am able to just see over the tall flower garden to the tip of the Humming bird feeder. If I am lucky there is one there flitting back and forth...More than likely though I look in vain...that's OK though...it was worth the look...So then I head inside to be greeted by the little guy...

That's our Bailey...lol...After making myself a cup of coffee I head for the back door to look out on the yard again...Here are a couple of shots...

There are usually dozens of birds at the feeders and on the ground and flying back and forth and Humming Birds flitting back and forth and you can see below that there is a bird bath...I love to watch them take a bath...We have babies and fledglings and I could go on, but you get the picture...There is also all the nature noises to go along with all of this...so relaxing...

I never thought would be able to say that I was a bird watcher but it has definitely become one of my simple pleasures...as my job has become more of a chore...my backyard has become more of a treasure...And I have to say that this summer the weather has been lovely!

SO
