"I BELIEVE IN PINK! I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles."— Audrey Hepburn

“To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.” - Ralph Waldo Emerson

Every night, friends. You have done what you could. Let it go.

“Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day. You shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.” ― Ralph Waldo Emerson

Poor Baby! He Never Gets Any Attention! (Pink Saturday)

Ya'll might guess that I spend a good amount of time on my little pink computer...It has become part of my downtime...I don't just sit in the living room with the TV on...I always have something else with me, whether it be the laptop, kindle, or tablet, there is always something else going on...I do not just stare at the TV during commercials, or give a sporting event my entire attention...

The culprits! (above)

(Here Bailey is sleeping sitting up between my daughter and I on the couch)

However, there is someone in this house that becomes very impatient with that...That little guy above seems to think that everyone here should be paying attention to him...All.The.Time.

This is what happens when he thinks that I have had enough time on the laptop...

or this...

funny, huh...

He has been known to climb right up into my lap and proceed to start pawing keys and typing and sending things! I have no idea sometimes what he has done! I will move him and he is right back! He will not give up. He paws me, and then the keys, until I put the LT down and pay attention to him...Once in a while, if I get angry and keep going he will give up...Then I feel guilty and later make up for it...sigh...I guess you can see who is really in charge around here...He's the baby...Gotta love him...
lol
Anyway...do any of you have a persistent pet?

New Toy!!

Well, as the title suggests, I have a new toy...It is loads of fun! I have a tablet! Yes, a Tablet! I love it!
And there it is...alas, it isn't pink...sigh...it didn't come in pink....
But have no fear, I will pink it up...I always do...this little beauty, can do a lot...there is a place for a USB port, a micro USB port, a micro SD card slot (up to 32g)...and much more! unlike some other tablets, which shall remain nameless!
Anyway, I am loving it...and the price wasn't bad either...
I didn't really need it, but I love to have the next great thing...I blame Santa Clause for that...My Santa always brought me the latest and greatest piece of electronics every year...I had the portable record player, the transistor radio, and even a cassette recorder! A stereo too! Even an 8 track! So you see, Santas fault!
I already had a sleeve to carry it in...
Pretty cute huh?
My daughter gave it to me for Christmas...she thought I could put my Kindle in it...I could...but...
So...Happy Pink Saturday

Sturtagaard chose not to speak, though it was he who had called for the meeting. They both checked their watches and realized they had been sitting across from him for ten minutes, watching him sniff the air. If he wanted to play this, they would play along at least for a little while longer, though both were tired of the leering. As the vampire sniffed again, Cham finally figured out why.

"You know, you called us. We really don't have anything to say to you, so if you're just playing games, we're happy to leave. I've got other, more important things to do than watch you sniff and leer," Cham finally said, and stood up.

Sturtagaard smiled as he watched Cham open the door because he much preferred dealing with Annie, but when she stood up, too, he realized he'd overplayed his hand.

"If I talk, my employer will have me staked. I'd like some assurance that you won't do the same," he said rather quickly, before they left.

They turned and looked at him, both rolling their eyes.

"I'll have you staked if you don't talk," replied Cham, as he stood by the door.

"You're out of options if you ever hope to get out of here again," Annie said calmly, focusing on his face.

Sturtagaard squirmed a little in his seat, as Annie's expression was somewhat disquieting and unemotional. He looked at Cham, whose face was expressionless, and then back to Annie, who hadn't moved a muscle. The vampire sighed.

"You heard right. I was hired to create a zombie army to overthrow the Wizard Council," Sturtagaard said. His voice remained steady and calm with resignation.

"Who wants to overthrow the Council?" asked Cham, his hand still clutching the door.

"My employer. I've told you, I don't know who he is. I always dealt with his associate. He'd show up, leave notes, or send others with messages. I've never contacted him." He looked from one to the other, but they both remained stony and detached. "Come on, now. I can't give you information I don't have." Sturtagaard was charming.

Annie rolled her eyes again. "You really don't have any idea who the employer is?" she asked with sarcasm.

"Really, I don't," he said.

"So you're building an army of the dead. How long did you have to get this done?" Annie took out her phone and pulled out her calendar.

"He wanted it ready for September first."

Annie looked up with a grimace, and Cham looked surprised. She didn't need to mark the date on her calendar or research its significance, though neither could figure out why a zombie army had to be created for that day, the Day of First Sun. It was a very powerful and ancient day for good magic.

"So, your employer wants an army of the dead on that day? Why?" Cham asked in a flat, emotionless voice.

"He's a black wizard. What do you think he wants? He wants to overthrow the Council, take over the world, practice magic in the open. You know, the typical magical fantasy." Sturtagaard grinned because he believed that would benefit the entire supernatural world.

"Wipe the smirk off your face, Sturtagaard. Having free reign won't be as good as you think, with all the angry mobs, torches, and stakes through the heart."

Annie smirked at Cham, who shook his head and laughed. He waited to compose himself before looking back at the vampire.

Update!
By, Kim Garst
A review and Giveaway!
And the winner is...
Sherree Chmitlin!

I received this ebook for review and I admit, I didn't quite know what to expect...I was pleasantly surprised! The book is a quick read, well written, and very much to the point. No wasted words here, and the words that are here, are well worth the read.
That said, let's get down to business...so to speak...
The premise of this book is just as the title claims. Ms. Garst has created a step by step tutorial with specific explanations that will serve as a guide to get even the newest Pinterest beginner on the road to being an expert on the use of Pinerest. I am on Pinterst, as one can be see by my button over there on the left sidebar(a suggestion that can be found in the book)...I use it to post pretty Pink things...(did you know that if you post a picture, and someone clicks on it, it links back to where the Picture came from?)...yep, in the book...
I am sure that you can see the potential here...Ms. Garst spells it out for you. She starts out by explaining just exactly what this thing called Pinterest is and goes on to explain how it is organized, and then how you may possibly want to organize it for yourself in order to make it work for your business or even your blog...
This is a win win!
I highly recommend this book, even if Pinterest is just a hobby for you!
An example of one of my pins from my Board titled "Think Pink"

The Lagarto Stone (A Book Review)

6/30/2006
Format:
Perfect Bound Softcover(B/W)
Pages:
278
Size:
6x9
ISBN:
978-0-59536-727-6

A mortally wounded Mexican stranger passes Doug Sutherland a cryptic note about a "shipment" and warns him that "your mother is in danger" Sutherland, a young Chicago entrepreneur, tries to convince himself that the message was meant for someone else. Even if true, why should he care? His mother abandoned his father and him when he was an infant. Besides, his world is already complicated by his love life, his real estate project, and debilitating nightmares echoing gruesome memories from his infancy, images associated with his phobias and his mother.

But then armed men invade his apartment, a Mexican smuggler threatens him, the police accuse him of drug dealing, and a DEA agent harasses him, all because of what he supposedly possesses or knows. Sucked into a maelstrom, he must overcome his life-long fears and resentment toward his mother to rescue her, save his kidnapped girlfriend, recover a priceless pre-Hispanic artifact, battle a ruthless smuggler, and survive multiple murder attempts, the last from an unexpected source.

Whew! That was the synopsis from both the Amazon blurb and the book website...I knew when I read it, that the premise was one that had the potential to hold my interest...it was right up my alley. I mean, what's not to like? It has archaeology, a little romance, a lot of adventure and some mystery thrown in and a few twists too.
The author did not disappoint. Once I started this book, I did not want to put it down. Even though Doug is just your every day real estate developer/former lawyer and his girlfriend is also a lawyer they sure do have the brains and the guts to get themselves out of some real scrapes...
This was an action packed, adventure filled ride from beginning to end. I tell you Clive Cussler's Dirk Pitt and Giordano would be proud...
Fans of those two will enjoy this one. I know that I enjoyed the ingenuity and luck that these two employed throughout the book in order to try to stay a step ahead of the bad guys.
I don't really want to say too much about the plot itself because I make it a policy as a reviewer not to be a spoiler...
I will just say that when I finished the book I thought to myself that these characters were such that I would like to spend more time with them...I wondered if Mr. Gordon McIntosh had considered writing another book with Doug Sutherland and his Girl...I looked it up, and guess what!?! He sure did! It is called, Death's Crooked Shadow! I have already loaded it onto my Kindle and I have already read the prologue! I have to tell you that as soon as I finish this review and publish it to all of the places that I promised I would...I will be reading that one...
So 5 HEARTS for this one!

The Lagarto Stone
